My dad had a major stroke in 2023 and his recovery journey changed the direction of my established health and fitness work.
Through our family’s experience, I became increasingly aware of the gap between clinical therapy and the practical, ongoing support many stroke survivors and their families need as they continue their recovery beyond formal rehabilitation.
Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in health, fitness and wellbeing, I created Stroke Rehab Support to help bridge that gap.
Today, I provide personalised 1:1 and 2:1 Exercise After Stroke, alongside professional training through the CPD in Stroke Rehab Support certificate.
For survivors and families, that means practical exercise, education and encouragement in a safe and supportive environment. Alongside the exercise itself, I help people understand how the brain and body can continue to adapt and re-learn after stroke, and why meaningful progress can still be possible months and even years later.
For professionals, it means developing the confidence, understanding and skills needed to support stroke survivors appropriately within their own scope of practice through evidence-informed, non-clinical support.
Everything I do is built on the belief that recovery does not end when formal rehabilitation ends. The brain and body can continue to adapt and re-learn after stroke, and meaningful progress can still be possible months and even years later.
